If you are new to the Small Winemakers Centre, we invite you to meet our team. We are a unique group of individuals who come from a range of different backgrounds but are all united by our passion for winemaking.
Rachel has been with Small Winemakers since 2006 but has worked with Hunter Valley wine for over 30 years so there isn’t much Rach doesn’t know about the Hunter, she has a fantastic palate and her opinion is highly valued among the winemakers (as well as her wicked sense of humour). Listen closely and you’ll find
out all the secrets of the Hunter Valley....
Carolyn has been with us since 2010 and with her infectious laugh and kind manner, our visitors warm to this lovely lady immediately. Wine tasting with Carolyn is like sitting around your family dinner table regaling stories of past vintages. You'll want to stay all day!
Neil has spent many years travelling the world as part of his previous life as a butler. Luckily for us he decided to settle here in the Hunter Valley, establishing a boutique guest house with his wife Barbera. His wry sense of humour
and irrepressible enthusiasm for our range of wines will have you settling in for a good sesssion of fine wine and good conversation.
Maxine joined our team at the Small Winemakers Centre in March 2018 and her warm smile makes everyone feel instantly welcome. Maxine has a fabulous knowledge of wine and her time as a tour guide means her local Hunter Valley knowledge is second to none. She is rather partial to Tempranillo and Chardonnay, but she winds down after a hard day with a dirty margarita!
Gillian has lived in the Hunter Valley for over 20 years and claims her knowledge of wine happened simply by osmosis. Gillian is known for her amazing hospitality at home and she brings this, along with her wicked laugh, to our cellar door. We just wish she would bring some of her cooking too.
Janet joined the team in October 2014 and as soon as her unsurpassed organisational skills were discovered she was quickly thrown into the role of Operations Manager. After a spell on maternity leave, Janet now manages to keep us superbly organised remotely while looking after her twins.
A born and bred Hunter Valley local, Jeremy grew up with the family winery a stone's throw from home so he is well acquainted with the seasonal rhythm of the Hunter Valley. With three vintages under his belt, Jeremy is planning to begin his winemaking studies in 2019 at Adelaide University.
Come visit our team in person at our cellar door, where we look forward to welcoming you to discover our unique facility for yourself!
