New Release! Normally, our Viognier is blended into our Shiraz but 2017 was such an outstanding vintage that we decided to release an individual parcel. The very low yields resulted in intense flavours and beautiful balance. Only the first run of juice was used for this wine and 30% was fermented in new French oak barriques, with the balance held on lees in stainless steel tanks. The oak portion was matured for 12 months prior to blending and bottling.
We prefer our Viognier to be light and crisp so this is how we have made this release. It has layers of fragrant pear, apricot and ginger with a hint of toasty flavour from the oak component. This wine shows all the hallmark textures of this intriguing variety followed by a crisp, dry finish.
