Thommo is originally from McLaren Vale in South Australia and this blend of Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale Shiraz is a nod to his history in the area. This is a great fruit-driven style that is simply a good, tasty drop. The savoury flavours of the Hunter Valley merge with the rich, plum fruit of McLaren Vale.
A vibrant and intruiging expression of shiraz, this wine offers a classy perfume of dark cherry and choc-licorice set to a subtle scent of cedary oak. It’s medium to full, with plush dark fruit flavours and given some structure from coils of firm, dusty tannin. The result is a seamless, seductive and dangerously drinkable style. This wine has the attributes to cellar well over the next five to eight years, yet its fruit intensity and supple tannin structure make it enjoyable in its youth, particularly with food.
